MAP Based Product Search

Introduction

The map based search engine can be used to search information about the following GSI products:

·         Aero-geophysical Map

·         GIS Meta data

·         Historical Map

·         Published paper map

·         Unpublished Report

Select any of the product categories from the “Product Category” drop down list. Depending upon the category chosen, drop down list for the further sub-category will open. Select values from the sub-categories to narrow down the search.

 

 

 

Once the search criteria are chosen, select an area in the map by using the ‘Select Extent’ tool. You can ‘Pan’, ‘Zoom-in’ and ‘Zoom-out’ to further refine your search. Once satisfied with the area of interest, press the search button to execute your query.

Select Extent Top

Select Extent tool is used to facilitate any map based product search listed in the Product List.This tool allows the user to select the area of interest on the displayed map to search and retrieve the desired map based product category of Geological Survey Of India. 

How To Use

1. Select the tool

2. Draw a rectangle on the displayed map to search the desired product map based  category.

3. Select the Product Category from the Product List.

4. After all selection are made, click on the search button to view the available request for the area of interest. 

Zoom to Full Extent Top

The Zoom to Full Extent tool  enlarges the map to it full geographic dataset.

How To Use :

1. Click the Zoom to Full Extent button and the Map View will automatically return to the full extent.

Fixed Zoom In Tool Top

The Zoom In tool will increase the scale size and make viewable area smaller in the Map View.

How To Use :

1. Click the Zoom In tool to zoom into map.

2. The application will automatically zoom in by the specified zoom factor .
Fixed Zoom Out Tool Top

The Zoom In tool will increase the scale size and make viewable area smaller in the Map View.

How To Use :

1. Click the Zoom In tool to zoom into map. You will know

2. The application will automatically zoom in by the specified zoom factor.

Pan Top

The Pan tool shifts the Map View to a user specified center 

How To Use

1. Select the Pan tool

2. Click in the Map View where you would like the new map center to occur. The view will automatically be adjusted to your newly specified center

If you get following message in Internet Explorer 7, do the steps below.

How to set

1. Open Internet Explorer and navigate as stated below.

 Tools > Internet Options... > Secirity > Internet > Custom level...

2. Delete Cookies and Detele Files.
